Open House

We had Reese's open house for MDO last night. It was a chance for the parents to come and see all the fun things they've done in class thus far. Reese has the BEST teachers. They are so into their work and the kids and have gone above and beyond to teach them all the cute little things they are learning. Reese is in a room called the "Teddy Bear Room" so the theme is teddy bears. Each month they focus on a shape, a color and a word. This month the color was yellow, so we saw lots of yellow in her room. They are learning "all about me" and did several different activities with their "favorite" items......you'll see the book below. Reese's teachers said she is an "absolute delight" to have in their classroom. They reported that she does very well with the other kids, talks extremely well for her age and loves to play in the kitchen area of the classroom with a baby doll in tow!!! Reese, we are so proud of you sweet girl!!!! Daddy, Charlie and I had so much fun at your "sccooo" (school) tonight!!

what is that face??

I'm loving her "masterpiece!!"

Toddler Time at the Library

On Tuesdays, Reese, Charlie and I have been going to "Toddler Time" at the library. It is soooooo wonderful. The class is only 45minutes, but we read a story, sing silly songs, dance, do a craft and end with a snack. Reese looks forward to going each week. This week we traced her sweet little hand and made a stem out of her finger to make a flower. She was so proud of her picture!!!

Happy 11mo B'day Sweet Boy!!!

It's hard to believe he's 11mo old today.....it's even harder to believe that he's the same age Reese was when we had him -- how time flies. He is such a big boy. We had him weighed last week at his doctors appt and he is 26lbs. He gets around REALLY well, crawls super fast and cruises along the fireplace, toys, boxes, etc. He is a "pretty good" eater, although would prefer his milk in a bottle over table food. He can say "bye bye" and wave and he likes to point at things. He is a BIGTIME Momma's boy (which I love!!), loves to wrestle with his daddy and will follow Reese anywhere. We can't imagine life without him and are LOVING watching him grow and learn everyday. Charlie -- we love you and are so proud of you!!!

Bye Bye Mr. Frog, Hello Schoolbus!!!

As I posted before, Reese was totally stressed out about Mr. Frog popping last night, so we were at Toys R Us this morning when the doors opened shopping for a new ball pit. We picked out this School bus, which is the cutest thing ever, and everyone is happy, happy!!

"Come on in Charee"

should be illegal to have this much fun in a school bus!!

Bye Bye Mr. Frog.....

Something else Charlie did today.....he popped Mr. Frog, our makeshift ball pit. He sat his big ol' hiney right where the leg meets the body of the pool and it detached and all we could hear was air oozing slowly while Mr. Frog got more and more limp. Reese is totally distraught over the entire thing. I've been trying to explain to her that we will get a new Mr. Frog, but I don't think she believes me. She must have said, "oh no Mr. Frog, Charree popped" 100 times tonight. I must get a new Mr. Frog or something similar soon. Our play room has about 200 balls scattered all over the floor -- just something else to add to my list of "to do's!!"

"oh no Mr. Frog"

One last hoo-rah before he goes completely limp!!

Getting so big.....

My big boy has finally mastered the sippy cup. We've been trying for some time now and he's finally got it -- and he likes it!!!

Yayyyyyy Charlie!!

We also got our first real pair of shoes today. I took Charlie and had his foot "officially sized", and he's a 6 WIDE -- yep, 6 - WIDE. Such a big boy. He likes his new kicks!! Looks like little boats on his feet!! =)

see the WIDE stickers???? ha

checking 'em out

Bad Blogger....

Well, I've been a bad blogger this past week. It's been a busy one. Reese stuck -- I mean jabbed -- a thermometer down Charlie's left ear this past weekend and we had 2 doctors appointments and one ENT appointment to discover that he is ok, just beaten up. Poor baby's ear bled for a few days and we are now on drops to try and speed up the healing process. Reese doesn't have a clue what she did, she only repeats, "Charrees ear hurt" over and over. She has been told NEVER to stick anything in Charlie's ears again and we hope that she understands enough to do just that. Also, Joe and I's 5 year anniversary was this past weekend. We got to go out and have dinner and drinks and it was wonderful. We don't get to do things just the 2 of us very often, so it was a treat. We had a great time......we're off this weekend on a mini vacation, just the two of us -- hope to have pictures of that soon!!!

Happy Birthday Austin!!!

We had Austin's first b'day party this weekend. The kids had so much fun and Austin got lots of fun new toys! Charlie and Reese ate cupcakes -- probably their favorite part of the entire event!! Happy 1st Birthday Austin -- we had fun!!

Yayyyyy, new walker for Charlie!!!

Poor Charlie has been pushing around Reese's baby stroller/walker for almost a week now -- this morning, I told Joe, I could not watch my little man push around a pink baby stroller any longer. So off to Babies R Us we went -- now Charlie is the proud new owner of a rock and roll walker -- he LOVES it -- he is all over the place with the crazy thing. He bumps into the wall and rams it over and over again until I come and get him "straightened out!" He is such a boy.....

It was all fun and games until.......

Reese decided she wanted to push it -- see Charlie chasing her??

She was running as fast as she could to get away!!

But in the end, Charlie prevailed!!!

Charlie's 1st Day of Gymboree!!!

Charlie and I started a Mommy and Me class today at Gymboree Play and Learn. He is taking the same class Reese took when she was his age. It is such a wonderful program for little explorers. Charlie loved it -- I don't think he knew what to do at first. He just crawled around in circles and stared at all the fun things to climb on. It didn't take him long to figure everything out.....then he was off!!! Our friends Katie and Austin are taking the class too, so Charlie has a buddy. Can't wait till next Wednesday!!

Going to my first class!!

MDO -- take two!!

Today was Reese's 2nd day of MDO an I had to take her. Joe was out of town, so I had no choice -- I was sooooo nervous. I didn't want to cry, and I didn't want her to cry, I just wanted it all to go smoothly -- and it did. She was such a trooper. We walked in and I told her she was going to go and play with her friends and I would be back in a short while to get her. She said, "I play" and off she went. Such a big girl!

First Day of MDO

We missed the first week of MDO because we were on the cruise, so Reese's first day was Monday. She did SO good. She barely cried when Joe took her to her class -- just a little whimper -- then she was fine and played well the whole time. They had art and she painted a picture on an easel, they made a gummy bear graph and sampled gummy bears, and had "movement class" which is where they teach them group type activities with movement (like the hokey poky for example). The movement room is a big room lined with mirrors and the teachers said she stood in front of the mirrors the whole time dancing and watching herself.....my little ballerina!! =) When I went to pick her up she was of course thrilled to see me and came running with open arms (my favorite!!).....she kept saying, "I play, I play".....I'd say she had a good time! Now let's hope for another good departure on Wednesday!!

Remember this?????

Reese was 17months in this picture and Charlie was 5months.....now the tables have turned!!

Charlie LOVES to push Reese now!!

He's slow and still a little unsteady, but they both get a real kick out of this!!

She even gets in his hippo and let's him push her -- she says, "go Charree, go!!"
