Fun, Fun Weekend!!

We had such a fun, relaxing Memorial Day Weekend!! We decided last minute to forgo the lake and stay at home, and boy am I glad we did! We didn't do anything incredibly special, just spent lots of time at the pool, had friends over for a cookout, took the kids to see an Imax film and cooked out with my family on Memorial Day. It was perfect! Reese and I even snuck in some girl time and went shopping just the two of us (she's REALLY into "girl time" right now!!) Love, love, love weekends like this one.....nothing like sweet memories with family!

Fun in the Sun!

We had an awesome play date today with our sweet friends Ella, John Bay and Mary Virginia. The kids had more water activities and play equipment than they could shake a stick at, and they ran around Allison's backyard for 4 hours! Needless to say, I have 2 very worn out children tonight!! Thanks for having us Allison, it was a blast!!

Is that not hilarious? Looks like he's tee-tee'ing!

Snacktime!!

Dance Recital 2011

Reese's dance recital was today and it was PRECIOUS! She did so beautifully, and danced the entire time, did just as Mrs. Cindy told her, and kept one of the biggest smiles on her face the entire time!! She has been so so excited about this recital and keeps telling me "let's go do it again!" (she is such a ham!) We were not supposed to take flash photography during the recital, so I was only able to snap a couple of shots (most of which did not turn out well) -- but I did include one that can show you how much fun she had and how big of a smile she carried the entire recital! I literally cried like a whipped baby while watching her. I could not get a hold of myself the whole time she danced. Charlie was sitting in my lap cheering for her and she was doing such a good job, I think it just made me so proud -- I could not hold back the tears. I am so not an emotional person, but something about seeing my sweet baby up on stage got me. She just makes me so proud! Reese, I love you so much sweet girl, and I am so proud of you. I hope you keep on doing that sweet little dance you do and enjoy every minute of it -- you bring a smile to so many faces! Love you bunches!!

you think she's excited??

go Reese go!!

she got lots of flowers and gifts after it was all said and done!!

Reese and Charlie were so happy to see Maci and Mason

and what dance recital is complete without ice cream cones to celebrate?!?!?!

**(On a sidenote, Joe is out of town this weekend -- his lifelong best friend got married in Georgia today and he was a big part of the wedding -- although he hated to miss Reese's recital, he had already commited to Greg's wedding -- she missed you today Daddy!)***

Last Day of MDO!

Today was the kids last day of MDO (sniff sniff). They both had such good teachers and had such a wonderful school year. It's amazing all they've learned and how much they have grown over this past year. We love our school so much and are so appreciative of all their teachers! Thank you Mrs. Leslie & Mrs. Patti (Charlie's teachers -- Mrs. Patti wasn't there today for me to get a picture with Charlie, but he LOVES Mrs. Patti!!) and Mrs. Mande and Mrs. Jessica (Reese's teachers) -- we love you guys!!

Charlie and his buddies!(Will, Charlie, Gavin, & Price) Charlie and Tristan -- we were on our way out the door and Tristan ran up to Charlie and gave him a big kiss and hug! I think they'll miss each other!!
Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Mande
The Getup Gang! Ha!!!! (You think Charlie enjoyed his purple popsicle today?!?!?!?!)

We're Ready!

Tomorrow is Reese's first ever dance recital and we couldn't be more ready and excited!! She had dress rehearsal yesterday and danced beautifully, so I'm in hopes that tomorrow goes just as well! Kate and Debbie came over and rode with us to the rehearsal, so I, of course, took the opportunity to snap a quick pic......such sweet friends!! We're so proud of you girls!!!

We made it to the beach!!

Sorry that first photo is so blurry -- it was taken with Joe's phone! Once we got to Sandestin Wednesday night, we had enough time to let the kids play for just a bit on the beach before dinner. We had dinner at The Back Porch, so while we waited for a table, they played! They were so excited to finally be there and get out and play in the sand! They both slept almost the entire way down there (and on the way back home!) so the ride was a breeze. We stayed at the Hilton Sandestin and it was beautiful and super kid friendly! Reese made lots of little friends while we were there, which meant she had lots of pool and beach buddies, and Charlie was happy as a peach to be with his daddy all weekend (he LOVES his daddy!!) and play football, paddle ball, kickball, pretty much anything that involved a ball. Sleeping arrangements went well too -- except for the fact that I had to share a double bed with my husband and I'm pregnant -- that is NO FUN! Reese had the best setup of anyone, she had a bed all to herself, and plenty of room to sprawl out! Charlie slept on his toddler blow up mattress we bought him, and I was very nervous to say the least. He still sleeps in his crib and has never slept anywhere without rails/sides, etc. He is a wonderful sleeper (part of the reason why I haven't moved him out of his crib), he never tries to climb or get out of bed, but I was still a bit skeptical. This weekend.......he proved me WAY wrong!! He did great. In fact, he loved every minute of his blow up bed. He thought he was such a big boy sleeping all by himself. Looks like we'll be ordering big boy furniture now! We had such a good time and I'm sad it's over. I love spending every minute of every day with my little family! Such wonderful, wonderful memories!!!

Reese had to have her picture in her bed all by herself too!!

Our first day at the beach....

Thursday was a beautiful day, perfect for hanging out at the beach! We played lots of paddle ball, built sandcastles and jumped more waves than I thought was possible! We had lunch by the pool and then played some more......such a perfect family day!

Beach Day Number 2!!

On Friday we spent the entire day at the beach and the pool. The kids were absolutely exhausted by the end of the day, but it was so worth it! It rained Friday night, we had dinner at Hammerheads in Baytown Wharf, but no pics because it was yucky outside. I love the beach!!

Joe took the kids out on "his boat"......they did not like it ONE BIT!!

Our last night at the beach

We had a yummy dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe and I actually got a few good family pictures (what a rarity!) This was my favorite dinner and ended up being our most fun night!!

Charlie bathed in ketchup during dinner......go figure!

Reese and Charlie, meet frogie!!

The Track

Saturday night, after dinner we went to The Track, one of the kiddos favorite places. I swear they could stay on these rides forever. After riding several rides, playing arcade games, and blowing through a lot of tokens, it was bedtime. How does time fly by so fast at the beach??

Charlie kept saying, "this is my favorite"......he figured out how to get his bucket to spin round and round, really fast. He could barely walk when he got off!!!

No arcade trip is complete without Charlie playing 15 bazillion games of basketball!

My little munchkin playing ski-ball!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

My Birthday is not "officially" until tomorrow, but we had my birthday dinner tonight because we are going to the beach tomorrow......whooooohoooooo! We had a yummy dinner followed by a Blizzard Cake (if you haven't tried one yet, go get one, they're yummy!!) I got lots of great gifts and had a great pre-birthday celebration!! Thank you everyone for everything -- I have the greatest family around!!! Love you guys!!
